As a nondenominational church, Circle of Light Ministries, LLC embraces individual autonomy over external authority, and flexibility and open-mindedness over rigid dogma. Our main philosophy is a belief in a Higher Power, however each individual perceives that to be, and to operate with compassion and according to the Golden Rule.
We strive to hold the highest intentions to nourish love and kindness, and to neutralize fear and malice. No one who visits or belongs to our group is required to believe any doctrine or “brand” of faith. It is up to individuals to find their own truths and practice spiritual beliefs according to the dictates of their own hearts and conscience. We simply ask that differences be honored and respected. We hold a philosophy of live and let live, and seeking common ground. We know that, ultimately, what unites us is of far greater importance than what divides us.
Our wedding ministry is an important part of this church. Our ordained ministers are also available for funeral and memorial services or other ceremonies such as baby blessings. They are ordained as non-denominational ministers through Circle of Light Ministries, LLC. However, they act as independent contractors, not employees, and are therefore responsible for any income derived and taxes owed or expenses incurred from conducting such ceremonies.

Rev. Amy Pereira, ordained via Circle of Light Ministries, LLC in 2016, is happy to come to you at your home or other Portland area venue or location to perform your wedding, and she also officiates at our chapel. She discovered love for creating personal wedding ceremonies during her own engagement, more than two decades ago, when she and her then-fiancé explored ways to creatively incorporate a number of faiths and traditions into their own ceremony. For Amy, all life is sacred. She has deep appreciation for working with those of diverse cultures and backgrounds with varied traditions and beliefs. She maintains her own inner peace and serenity through yoga, meditation, Reiki, retreating along her riverfront home and hiking trails of the Pacific NW with her husband and son, and is passionate about world travel, holistic nutrition, and environmental science. Amy considers it an honor to be with couples and families during significant life moments and brings to her work a grounded sense of wisdom and lighthearted joy.

From teacher and musician, to mom and friend, Rev. Kim’s journey to becoming a minister has been based on her firm belief that love is the glue that holds us all together. Being a strong proponent of diversity and inclusion, she brings respect and tolerance for any and all paths. Being able to share in the joy of the union of two lives and hearts reaffirms Kim’s belief that connection is at the core of all of our lives.
Kim became ordained through Circle of Light Ministries, LLC in 2021, to be able to perform a double ceremony encompassing marriage and a 30-year anniversary renewal of vows. The honor of being part of that experience brought great joy, which she has endeavored to infuse into every ceremony since.
With the spiritual renewal of meditation, music and the many expressions of love, Kim plans to continue to guide the unions of loving souls for years to come.
